The Islands Pool Services
The Islands is an oasis community located in Gilbert, Arizona. Developed between 1986 and 2015, this community offers homebuyers a variety of attached and single-family homes, many of which rest along scenic lakes. The Islands is made up of 80 acres of lakes and 30 acres of lush landscape, providing residents with ample outdoor space and natural beauty. The community is also home to a variety of commercial properties that provide residents with quick access to basic necessities. The Islands is just 40 minutes outside of Downtown Phoenix, making it easy for residents to enjoy big-city attractions and amenities close to home.
When The Islands was being developed, there were no local businesses in the area. The nearest grocery store was several miles away; the community was surrounded by dirt and fields. The developer decided to develop a Community Association to build a sense of community, so the residents would have access to shopping, eating, schools and other necessities. Community Associations have commercial property owners and residential property owners which are all called members of the Association. Per The Islands CC&Rs each member pays an assessment: for residential per unit (home), the apartments it’s per unit with the owner of the property paying and for commercial it’s based on square footage of the land. The Islands Community Association is a non-profit 501.
One of the largest and most popular lake communities in the valley is located in the southeast valley in Gilbert. The Islands lake community that covers 1.5 square miles and includes three separate bodies of water perfect for boating including canoes and kayaks. The diverse selection of waterfront property in The Islands includes townhouses, smaller single family dwellings, homes built by well known builders, and also custom homes.
There are three lakes in The Islands with a combination of townhouses, smaller and medium single family dwellings, and custom homes.
The northern lake of The Islands includes Tres Vistas and Shores at The Islands which contains custom homes.
The middle lake of The Islands contains two communities that feature custom homes; Desert Shores and Harbor Point.
The Islands is located close to downtown Gilbert which has recently experienced a significant growth of restaurants including Zinburger, Barrio Queen, LoLo’s Chicken and Waffles, Postino’s, and JoyRide which join already established and popular restaurants such as award winning Joe’s Real BBQ, Flancer’s, Liberty Market, and the Farmhouse. If you haven’t been to downtown Gilbert lately, you’ll be surprised by the recent changes.
The main benefits of living on a county island is no HOA’s, less government interference in what you do with your property, and less overall taxes as the city taxes don’t apply to you since you are not a part of the city.
